Awesome Praises Will Unlock Awesome Blessings, Rev. Prof. James Nda Jacob Declares at Foursquare Refreshing Dew

Christians have been urged to embrace praise as an expression of faith capable of renewing hope, strengthening individuals and inspiring national transformation.
The call was made on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as worshippers from across the Abuja Northern Axis of the Foursquare Gospel Church gathered at the Wuse District Headquarters for the Holy Spirit Refreshing Dew, themed “Awesome Praises, Awesome Blessings.”
The Independence Day gathering, anchored on Psalm 67:5–7 and Leviticus 25:13, brought together worshippers from Gwagwalada, Lugbe, Maitama, Gwarinpa, Garki, Kubwa, Nyanya, Asokoro, Daffa and Wuse districts.
The atmosphere came alive with colourful and spirit-filled choir ministrations in English, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba and Igbo amongst other tribes, reflecting both Nigeria's cultural diversity and the unity of worship.

Opening the spiritual charge, Rev. Babatunde Idowu, Wuse District Overseer, led the congregation in fervent prayers for Nigeria, drawing from 2 Chronicles 7:12–15. He prayed for the restoration of the nation's lost glory, unity, peace and progress, urging Nigerians to turn to God in faith and humility.
Delivering the main message, Rev. Prof. James Nda Jacob, Northern Region Axis Coordinator, described praise as the “rhythm of victory” and a powerful expression of confidence in God.

Drawing from Psalm 67:5–7, he said there is a divine connection between genuine praise and fruitfulness: when people praise God, “the earth shall yield her increase.”
He encouraged worshippers to enter the final quarter of 2026 with thanksgiving rather than fear, declaring that praise should not be determined by circumstances but by confidence in God's promises.
Using the biblical example of David, the cleric explained that a life of consistent worship helped distinguish the king's relationship with God. He also recalled the victory of King Jehoshaphat, whose people confronted a formidable coalition of enemies with praise and subsequently witnessed divine intervention.
“Praise is the language of faith. When we offer God awesome praise, we position ourselves to experience His awesome blessings,” he declared.
Rev. Nda Jacob urged the congregation not to reduce praise to songs alone, but to worship God wholeheartedly through thanksgiving, singing and dancing, even when circumstances appear difficult.
Turning to Nigeria's 66th Independence anniversary, he expressed hope that the same principle could speak to the nation's challenges, calling on Christians to combine prayer, faith and responsible citizenship with confidence in God's ability to restore the country.
The service climaxed with intense prayers for healing, deliverance, financial restoration and renewed opportunities. Prayers were also offered for struggling businesses, careers, delayed dreams and families passing through difficult seasons.
For many worshippers, the Independence Day gathering became more than a celebration. It was a declaration of hope, that when praise rises above adversity, faith is renewed and discouraged hearts can look again towards a better tomorrow.
The message of the day was unmistakable: when awesome praises ascend, God's people can look forward in faith to awesome blessings.
