Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi Paid A Courtesy Visit To His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi Ebira
Earlier today, the 28th of December, 2024, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, the Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Egbira land, HRM Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje in his palace. The Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, in his address appreciated His Royal Majesty for the warmth reception accorded him and his team and His Royal Majesty's unwavering commitment towards fostering peace, progress and development of Egbira land, same which he said has made it possible for the present peace and development we are witnessing in Egbira land. The Director-General stated that, he is in the palace to intimate His Royal Majesty on the development and achievements so far made by the Federal Government of Nigeria through his office, to wit: training of our youths in the development of *Clean and Renewable Energy*, for example, training on how to couple and fix Solar-powered street lights.
According to the DG, he has achieved all these in the past few months that he has spent in office as Director-General of ECN. He also emphasized on his major achievements so far which he said, includes, but not limited to the establishment of *Barefoot Renewable Energy College* situated at Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, same which he said is aimed at training and equipping the young people on production of clean and renewable energy in order to move the country away from the conventional source of energy which greatly contributes to global warming and climate change which is a huge threat to human life and society in general.
In the same vein, The DG stressed in his speech that he is thankful to Almighty God that the construction of structures for the take off of *Barefoot Renewable Energy College* situated in the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara campus has already begun. He further stated that he is very happy with the pace of works at the College.
Moreso, he reiterated the fact that, he carried out Empowerment programs through his Foundation named *Dr Mustapha Abdullahi Foundation* some months ago, where the trained youths on how to couple Solar-powered street lights were empowered and equipped with the tools. And that the said beneficiaries have already started exploring the field of solar and wind power installations and development. He informed His Royal Majesty that another ongoing training on energy development will come to an end tomorrow, the 29th of December, 2024 and certificates of proficiency will be presented to the participants as the program wind up by tomorrow. He humbly requested His Royal Majesty to grant him and his team the honour of presenting the Certificates of Proficiency to the participants tomorrow.
Further more in his address, he briefed His Royal Majesty about *Dr Mustapha Abdullahi Foundation* and its activities which he said includes *Basketball Tournaments* which will be rounding up by next tomorrow, the 30th of December, 2024 just as he seeks His Royal Majesty's physical presence in the rounding up ceremony of both the Training Exercise and the Basketball Tournament too.
His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi Ebira Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje in his remarks, applauded the efforts of the Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi just as he acknowledged its impacts on our youths within the short period of time he assumed office as DG, Energy Commission of Nigeria.
His Royal Majesty further inquired about the time and venue of the program which the DG said his team will communicate same to the palace protocol as soon as practicable.
On the ongoing *Basketball Tournament*, His Royal Majesty acknowledged his effort on sport development as he advised him to notify the palace right on time next year, so that His Royal Majesty, Alh. (Dr) Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Egbira land can also add value to the Tournament by inviting some Royal Fathers from other parts of the country to grace the occasion and also give it more publicity, glitz and glamours that it deserves.
Finally,His Royal Majesty also used the opportunity to advise the members of the Foundation to be supportive and emulate the DG's footsteps and finally prayed for successful tenure and more promotion of the Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi.
