The annual Sunday School Rally of the Foursquare Gospel Church was observed nationwide today, filling sanctuaries across Nigeria with vibrant worship, inspired teaching, and renewed spiritual commitment.

At the Wuse District Headquarters in Abuja, Sunday, September 28, 2025, worshippers arrived early, their hearts charged with anticipation. By the time the first drumbeats of praise thundered through the sanctuary, the atmosphere was alive with expectancy.

The choir ministration, led by Brother Victor Nwabueze, set the tone for the day. In a remarkable display of skill, he rendered a 30-minute uninterrupted praise and worship session on the flute. His melodic performance reverberated through the church auditorium, lifting the congregation into a spirit of heartfelt adoration.

Sunday School Charge was formally opened by Pastor Adebayo Azeez, who spoke on the topic: The Importance and Benefits of Sunday School. He emphasized that Sunday School is more than a tradition, it is a strategic tool for:

Teaching Christian values and biblical discipleship.
Developing leadership and spiritual maturity.
Providing access to practical Christian education.
Discovering spiritual gifts and nurturing future church leaders.
Fostering personal growth, both spiritually and physically.

In his charge to the congregation, Pastor Azeez posed a question that echoed throughout the rally:
“What will you start to do differently today?”
His answer was clear, intensify your commitment to Sunday School (2 Peter 3:18).

Creative Engagements
The rally featured a variety of activities designed to deepen understanding of Scripture and inspire participation. Sister Grace Idashaba delivered an oratory biblical impartation, followed by a drama playlet titled Renewed Through the Word. A spirited quiz session engaged participants from all Sunday School classes, testing their knowledge on God, His Word, humanity, and the ministry of Jesus Christ.

The highlight of the rally was the message delivered by Rev. Mrs. Morenike Babalola, who spoke on the theme Renewed by the Word of God (Jeremiah 31:33–34).
She defined renewal as a divine process of transformation, flushing out the old and replanting the new. Her message founded upon three dimensions of renewal:

Clearance:  removing spiritual weeds and embracing new growth in Christ.
Upgrading: deepening one’s prayer life, faith, and scriptural understanding.
Righteousness: living in holiness, free from corruption, anchored in God’s Word.
Quoting from Hebrews 4: 12, John 1:1, and Matthew 4: 7, Rev. Mrs. Babalola reminded the congregation that:

1. The Word of God is powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword.

2. The Word of God is fire that purifies.

3. The Word of God is a mirror that reflects who we are and who we must become in Christ.

Her call to action was uncompromising: “Surrender your heart completely to Jesus Christ. Give your life to Him, re-examine your journey, and allow His Word to renew your hope, discipline, and faith.”

The rally concluded with prophetic prayers, sealing the day’s message and stirring the congregation toward renewed devotion and discipleship. As the Sunday School Rally echoed across Nigeria’s Foursquare Gospel Churches, one truth stood firm: the Word of God remains timeless, transformative, and essential for building believers and strengthening the church.
