As part of activities marking the Family Month celebration themed “Godly Homes, Godly Nation,” the Foursquare Gospel Church witnessed a spiritually enriching and intellectually stimulating service focused on the urgent need for moral restoration, family stability, and responsible Christian citizenship as pathways to national transformation.

The service commenced with an uplifting praise and worship session led by the Okunrinboye family, whose spirit-filled ministration created an atmosphere of thanksgiving, unity, and reverence. Their harmonious presentation stirred the congregation into heartfelt devotion and reflection, setting a fitting tone for a gathering centred on family values, Christian discipleship, and nation-building. The atmosphere emphasized the timeless biblical truth expressed in Psalm 133:1: “Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

Delivering the keynote teachings, Rev. Adebayo Azeez and Mrs. Boma Azeez offered profound biblical insights on the topic, “The Making of a Godly Nation,” drawing scriptural references from Matthew 5:13–16 and 1 Peter 2:9. The ministers emphasized that God’s desire for righteous nations begins with the transformation of individual families and homes.

Rev. Azeez noted that the making of a godly nation is neither accidental nor merely political, but deeply spiritual and intentional according to God’s divine purpose. Referencing Romans 9:25, he explained that throughout biblical history, God has always sought a people who would reflect His righteousness and glory upon the earth. According to him, nations rise not merely through economic policies or military strength, but through moral discipline, godly leadership, and spiritual consciousness among citizens.

In her detailed exposition on the features of a godly home and nation, Mrs. Boma Azeez stressed that God must remain the central figure in every family. She explained that homes anchored on the fear of God and consistent study of the Scriptures naturally produce responsible citizens capable of influencing society positively.

She further encouraged believers to cultivate prayerful lifestyles, noting that prayer remains the spiritual engine room for family preservation and national peace. According to her, genuine love for God inevitably compels believers into selfless service, compassion, and righteousness. Quoting Ephesians 5:1–6, she urged Christians to live as imitators of Christ through holiness, humility, and sacrificial service.

Mrs. Azeez also highlighted the critical role of women and wives in supporting peace, unity, and spiritual growth within the family institution. She observed that strong nations are often products of stable and disciplined homes where biblical values are consciously nurtured. Stressing the importance of exemplary Christian living, she admonished believers to let their good works draw others to Christ, in line with Matthew 5:16.

Speaking further, Rev. Adebayo Azeez challenged Christians to move beyond passive faith and become active contributors to national development. He charged parents to intentionally raise children with leadership values, patriotism, integrity, and social responsibility. According to him, the family remains the foundational unit of society, and whatever affects the home eventually influences communities and nations.

“We are expected to deploy all the Christian training we have acquired toward developing our nation,” he stated, while cautioning believers not to allow negative public reactions or prevailing societal challenges to discourage them from doing good.

Rev. Azeez urged Christians to embrace unity, love, and service as essential pillars for societal transformation. Drawing inspiration from biblical figures such as Daniel and Joseph, who preserved righteousness and integrity within foreign governments, he emphasized that believers have a sacred duty to influence governance, institutions, and public life positively.

Referencing Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”,  he encouraged Christians to consciously position their nation for divine favour through righteous living, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. He further cited historical leaders, including Abraham Lincoln, as examples of individuals whose moral convictions contributed significantly to shaping their nations.

Expounding on 2 Chronicles 7:14, Rev. Azeez explained that national healing begins with humility, repentance, and collective prayer. He urged believers to stop withdrawing from societal responsibilities and instead become agents of peace, prosperity, and reconciliation within the church and the wider society.

The service later transitioned into fervent prayers for families and the nation of Nigeria, with worshippers interceding for peace, unity, moral revival, and divine restoration across the country.

In a moment of prophetic reassurance, the congregation was reminded that despite present challenges, hope remains alive for the nation. He encouraged believers to remain steadfast in faith, righteousness, and service to humanity.

The service concluded with renewed calls for consistent Bible study, godly parenting, responsible leadership, and unwavering Christian witness as indispensable tools for building a morally upright and prosperous nation. As the teachings echoed throughout the congregation, one enduring truth became evident: a godly nation can only emerge from godly homes shaped by faith, wisdom, discipline, and love.
